Raymond James, continues its expansion on the West Coast, has added PDX Wealth Management, a five-member firm in Lake Oswego, Ore., to its independent channel, according to a company release.
Financial advisors Matt Jung, Daniel Dunham and Kim Laird join Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) from Waddell & Reed, where they managed more than $285 million in client assets for a variety of clients, including business owners, families and individuals, retirees and women investors, the release said. The trio spent several years at Waddell & Reed before exiting for RJFS. Jung was there for 21 years; Dunham, 16 years; and Laird joined in 2016.
They are joined by Raymond James’ advisors Kevin Fredrickson, head of training and planning at PDX Wealth Management (PDXWM) and RJFS branch associate, and Megan Layton, executive associate at PDXWM and RJFS registered representative.
“We all wanted to be with a large firm that had all the capabilities that our clients could ever need," Jung, CEO of PDXWM,, said. "Especially now, in the middle of a pandemic, having a strong firm behind you becomes even more important. We felt like we could make the transition and do it well, and we wanted our clients and our team to be able to benefit from the depth of resources, technology and support now."
Bill Counsman, West regional director for RJFS, noted that for many advisors, the pandemic and the immediate need for more resources and high-touch support have only solidified their decisions to make a move now. “I’m proud that the firm’s unique offering continues to be attractive to high quality advisors, particularly as we grow Raymond James’ presence in the West,” he said.
Last month, Raymond James & Associates hired a UBS team in Woodland Hills, Calif., operating as Isaacs & Paller Wealth Management of Raymond James, with more than $360 million in client assets.
Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., Raymond James Financial Services Inc. is a wholly owned broker-dealer subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc., a multinational independent investment bank and financial services company. Raymond James & Associates Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of RJFS.
