Raymond James, a diversified financial services company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., has promoted Douglas Brigman to the position of president of Raymond James Insurance Group (RJIG), a wholly owned subsidiary and a department within the firm's Global Wealth Solutions unit, according to a news release.

Brigman, who earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia, has held several leadership roles at Raymond James during the past 12 years, most recently as the Raymond James & Associates (RJA) Tampa Bay Complex manager. Brigman also led the planning and strategy division for the Private Client Group.

“Doug brings extensive cross-industry experience and firm-specific knowledge to this critical advisor-focused role within Global Wealth Solutions,” said G. Haig Ariyan, head of the group and president of the firm’s Alex. Brown division, in the news release. “In his prior positions within Raymond James, he has proven his ability to lead teams and execute growth strategies in support of the firm and advisors.”

Brigman succeeds Scott Stolz, who retired from Raymond James in December 2020. Raymond James & Associates is actively interviewing candidates for Brigman’s former position.
