RBC Wealth Management has recruited a six-member team from Merrill Lynch that managed $560 million in client assets, according to a news release.
The Coatoam Wealth Management Group, based in Winter Park, Fla., is led by Brian Coatoam, managing director and financial advisor, who joined Merrill Lynch in 2009 after spending 11 years with Morgan Stanley, according to BrokerCheck.
“We made the decision to join RBC Wealth Management because of its family-like culture, as well as the management team who truly believe that clients come first,” Coatoam said in a statement.
The team includes Derek Grimm, senior vice president, financial advisor, who began his career with Charles Schwab in 1999. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2010 after working for other firms including Morgan Stanley.
