Retirement income withdrawals and emerging clients will be some of the dominant issues at this year’s Invest In Women conference in Atlanta from May 1 to May 3. In addition, several sessions at the conference will take a deep dive into various practice management topics, including how you build a network and how you manage growth, as well as the ways you deal with clients’ divorces, second marriages and prenuptials and complex issues involving RMDs.

The event opens at 9:30 a.m. with a pre-conference workshop featuring renowned tax expert Heather Schreiber addressing the way advisors should navigate the critical ages of retirement income planning in the wake of the SECURE Act 2.0. Schreiber and Jennifer Stephenson, chief planning officer at Signature FD, will also conduct a general session answering advisors’ most  complex question about RMDs on May 3 at 11:10.

Understanding and working with next-generation clients, now the largest segment of the American workforce, will be the focus of the opening general session on May 1. The speakers include Kamila Elliott, CEO and co-founder of Collective Wealth Partners, Cammie Doder, chief marketing officer of Aspiriant, and Stacey McKinnon, chief operating officer and chief marketing officer of Morton Wealth.

That session will be followed by a breakout session on divorce, second marriages and prenuptial agreements featuring Kimberly Foss, CEO of Empyrion Wealth, Lisa Zeiderman, managing partner of Miller Zeiderman LLP, and Carol Lee Roberts, president of the Institute For Divorce Financial Analysts.

Women launch more businesses than men but they also encounter more than their share of obstacles. Understanding the unique goals and needs of this growing segment of clients will be the focus of a general session talk by Sue Thompson, executive vice president of State Street Global Advisors, on May 2.

The connection between smart Medicare planning and financial wellness will be the theme of the luncheon presentation by Dr. Katy Votava on May 2. Dr. Votava will explain how advisors can help clients avoid ruining their retirement by overspending on Medicare.

Other sessions include talks on why advisors should build a community, led Sheryl Hickerson, CEO of Females and Finance, Heather Fortner, CEO of Signature FD and Kristin Andree, founder of the Andree Group.
