Rachaad White, a running back for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Pathward N.A., a national bank and financial services company based in Sioux Falls, N.D., are partnering to promote financial literacy in Tampa Bay, Fla., area schools, Pathward announced today.
The effort also is being sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and Webb Middle School, a Hillsborough County (Florida) school. The program is called Financial Fundamentals and was kicked off at the Webb Middle School by White today.
“This program aligns with Pathward’s community impact focus on financial inclusion and reflects its commitment to fostering financial education and responsibility from a young age,” Pathward said.
“Pathward is a national bank driven by our purpose of financial inclusion, and advancing financial wellness is a core component of our community impact model,” Catherine McGlown, Pathward senior vice president of communications, sustainability and public policy, said in a statement.
Pathward presented a $25,000 check to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. Students will begin the financial literacy curriculum tomorrow and will earn a certificate upon completing the program.
