TD Ameritrade on Monday announced it will expand its commission-free exchange-traded fund platform from 314 to 569 products. The newly added funds will begin trading on the platform on June 3.

A dozen ETF sponsors will be added, and all told the company’s platform will contain ETFs from 21 providers and will span roughly 90 Morningstar categories.

The following providers were added to the platform:

• Aberdeen Standard Investments

• DWS

• FlexShares

• Global X Management

• Goldman Sachs Asset Management

• IndexIQ Advisors

• J.P. Morgan Asset Management

• Nuveen

• Pimco

• Principal

• USCF Investments

• VanEck

With these additions, TD Ameritrade has expanded its commission-free ETF platform for financial advisors and individual investors by 81 percent. Among the major commission-free ETF platforms, Vanguard has the broadest lineup with more than 1,800 commission-free ETFs.

The Schwab ETF OneSource platform offers more than 500 such products from various sponsors, while Fidelity Investments announced in February it plans to expand its commission-free ETF platform to more than 500 funds. It currently offers 356 no-commission ETFs—28 from Fidelity and 328 from iShares.
