What they all have in common is they broke a mental barrier as much as a physical one. Since Roger Bannister, more than 1,000 people have run sub-4:00. Since Hilary and Norgay’s Everest Summit, approximately 5,000 have reached the summit—some more than once. Chamberlain’s and Honnold’s feats have yet to be duplicated.
Your objective may not reach the heights of these barrier breakers. And it doesn’t have to. But regardless of the size of the stretch, you can apply the process Kipchoge used to break your own mental and physical barrier.
