Tiedemann Advisors, an independent wealth and investment management firm headquartered in New York, has appointed Roberta Sydney to the board of directors, according to a news release. A spokesperson confirmed that she is the first woman appointed to the board.
Sydney has over three decades of experience in financial services and real estate development. She currently serves as president, CEO and board chair of her own company, Sydney Associates Inc., a property management company in Brookline, Mass., which she founded in 1999.
Sydney is also a member of the board of directors of Plaxall Inc., a plastics manufacturer in Long Island City, Queens, N.Y., and is an advisory board member of Boston-based Cobu.
Sydney earned a B.A. in French language and literature from Wellesley College; an M.S. in real estate development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); and an MBA in business administration and management from Harvard Business School.
