Fortune magazine has partnered with Korn Ferry, a global management consulting firm, to rank the companies most admired by executives, company directors and analysts. 

Working from a pool of 680 companies across 29 countries and 52 industries, Korn Ferry surveyed 3,900 corporate executives, directors and analysts on the reputations of the companies and asked them to choose the top 10 companies they admired most.

The data was then used to generate a list of the world's 50 most admired companies. Apple topped the list with the highest ratings, followed by two internet-based service companies, Amazon and Alphabet.

Among the companies on the list, six were in the asset management and brokerage, banking and insurance industries.

Korn Ferry’s nine types of criteria included quality of management and products, social responsibility and the companies' ability to attract talent.

Here are the six financial services companies from Fortune’s list of 50 of the most admired companies, in ascending order:

6. Charles Schwab

The discount broker finished last on the top 50 list, but it recevied high ratings for its innovation, use of corporate assets and quality of mnagement.
