A new president has been appointed at tru Independence, a financial services platform for registered investment advisors (RIAs).

Amit Dogra, with 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, is filling the position after a stint at Sanctuary Wealth of Indianapolis. 

“We’ve quietly grown tru Independence into a powerful platform for advisory teams hailing from either the wirehouse channel or looking for a growth partner as an already independent RIA,” CEO Craig Stuvland said in a prepared statement. “I have been looking for someone wih Amit’s passion, vision and skill set to complement mine and our team. We welcome Amit to tru with open arms because the time to be quiet is over. It is time to accelerate our growth and introduce our brand more broadly to the industry at large.”

tru Independence of Portland, Ore., offers its 24 affiliated wirehouse and RIA teams access to Independence Optimized, a business model designed to accelerate the growth of an advisory practice managing between $250 million to $1 billion through enhanced marketing technology.

Dogra served most recently served as chief experience officer at Sanctuary Wealth and, prior to that, as CEO and later partner with Third Seven Capital, a boutique investment bank in New York City. Dogra also worked for Hightower in Chicago as a managing director.

Founded in 2014, tru Independence has $8 billion in assets.
