A veteran team of financial advisors that managed $630 million at Wells Fargo in Columbia, S.C., has left to join Raymond James Financial Services, the firm’s independent advisor channel, according to a news release.
Vision Wealth Advisors include advisors Steelman Ketchum, managing partner; Shawn Roberts, senior vice president; partner Mark Sullivan; and partner Michael Schulz. The team provides wealth management and planning services to a range of clients, including business owners, corporate executives, retirees, families and family offices, the release said. Ketchum, Sullivan and Schulz had been with Wells Fargo since 2002. Roberts joined the firm in 2008.
Ketchum, who began his career with John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1996, also worked at J.C. Bradford & Co., and UBS Painewebber Inc., according to BrokerCheck. “We wanted a strong partner with an excellent reputation when it came to ethics and execution,” he said in a statement. “Raymond James stood out because it was very clear that it would never put us in a position to compromise the relationship we have with our clients."
Roberts said he is excited by the opportunity to provide more specialized and focused service to their clients. “Raymond James provides us with direct access to industry-recognized research and solutions to support just that,” he said.
Sullivan, a senior financial advisor and managing director of investments prior to joining Raymond James, was named a 2021 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor, marking the third consecutive year he received the honor, the release said.
Schulz, who early on in his career worked with Sullivan, added, “Raymond James stood out to us for its trust and integrity, as well as knowing that it can provide full-service offerings equal to those of a Wall Street firm.”
