After five years of negative returns, many investors now question the value of Emerging Markets as an asset class. Yet, in spite of concerns about the slowing Chinese economy, political turmoil in Brazil and the painful drop in commodity prices, Emerging Markets are among 2016’s best performing asset classes. This discussion will include an analysis of current Emerging Markets allocations and how those allocations are both changing and evolving at the institutional level. The discussion will examine the role of indexing and ETFs in Emerging Markets, as well as take a look at the relative attractiveness of Emerging Markets equities today. There will also be a discussion of the China A Share Market and Frontier Markets. The talk will end with a review of key investment themes in Emerging Markets and how investors can gain exposure to the Emerging and Frontier Markets consumer.
