The three-person team at Dodds Wealth Management Group has left Raymond James and joined the independent channel at Commonwealth Financial Network, according to a press release today.

Based in El Paso, Texas, Dodds Wealth Management includes Charles Dodds Jr., with 35 years of advisory industry experience; his son Adrian, who received his degree in family financial planning from Texas Tech University in 2002 and joined his father’s firm five years later; and Tarah McKenzie, a registered client service associate and the firm’s financial planning and operations analyst. Both Dodds are certified financial planners, and the elder Dodds holds three other financial services industry designations.

Their client base includes individuals and families, along with business owners and nonprofit organizations. The firm manages roughly $122 million in total client assets.

“The exciting thing about going independent is that we can structure our business specifically for our clients,” said Adrian Dodds in a prepared statement. “Instead of being told how our dollars will be put to work, we can now customize our practice to meet the specific needs of our clients.”

Commonwealth Financial Network is registered investment advisor and independent broker-dealer headquartered in Waltham, Mass., and San Diego. It comprises more than 2,000 independent financial advisors nationwide.
