Financial advisors Tracy Applewhite and Sean Tyll have joined LPL Financial’s employee advisor model, Linsco by LPL Financial, the company announced today in a news release.

Applewhite and Tyll were formerly with Wells Fargo Advisors, where they managed approximately $185 million in client assets. As part of their move to LPL, they are rebranding their practice as "Applewhite Tyll Retirement Planners."

The duo, who became partners in 2017, will be anchor tenants for a new Linsco office in Richmond, Va. Their clients are predominantly retirees and pre-retirees.

“What LPL offers with Linsco is really exciting,” Applewhite said in the news release. “We own our practice, but we do not have to worry about the operations side of the practice.” LPL’s resources include a dedicated marketing consultant, administrative professional services and a branch management team, the press release said.

Tyll said in the release that he is especially looking forward to having a social media presence that will help the practice engage with established clients, while connecting with new prospects.

The new office in Richmond will have space for several additional Linsco advisors and their teams. This is the second Linsco office to open this summer, with the other based in Raleigh, N.C.

Headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C.; San Diego; and Boston, LPL Financial supports more than 19,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide.
