A former Merrill Lynch advisor with about $1 billion in advisory, brokerage and retirement assets has moved to LPL Financial LLC to launch his independent practice, Resonate Wealth Partners, according to a news release.

Alexander “Alex” Guiliano has affiliated with Strategic Wealth Services (SWS), LPL’s breakaway solution for advisors. Guiliano founded the Ridgewood, N.J.-based firm after more than two years of research and due diligence, the news release noted.

“At Resonate Wealth Partners, we understand that financial decisions can often be overwhelming and complex, and while every situation is unique, we are here to help each client find strategies and answers that best suit their needs,” he said in a statement.

Guiliano, who started with Merrill Lynch in 2011, according to BrokerCheck, is joined by his longtime team members Debbie Appaluccio, director of client relations and Renee Purita, director of client services.

Guiliano said he wanted the best home for his clients and families over the next few decades, and he also “wanted the freedom and flexibility to set up the client experience the way I wanted and build the business on my own terms with the right partners.”

He added that as an independent business owner, the SWS program “allows me to leverage the resources of a major firm while also giving clients the attention they deserve.”
