A  father-son team that managed $1 billion in client assets has exited J.P. Morgan to join RBC Wealth Management in New York City, according to a news release.

Veteran financial advisor and managing director Michael C. Nolan, and Brian M. Nolan, senior vice president and financial advisor, operate The Nolan Group.

Michael Nolan had been with J.P Morgan for 31 years. According to BrokerCheck, he began his career with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1983 and worked for Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns & Co. before moving to JP Morgan in 1991.

“RBC Wealth Management has the right blend of resources, tools and support necessary to service the complex financial needs of our clients, along with a genuine commitment to putting the client first in all decisions,” he said in a statement.

Brian Nolan added that RBC’s “client-first culture was a significant attraction for us and our clients.” Nolan began his career with J.P. Morgan in 2009.

The team also include Megan O’Connor, vice president and senior business associate; Courtney Shultz, investment associate; and Nichole Ross, registered client associate.
