A $1 billion First Republic team has exited the firm to join RBC Wealth Management in Newport Beach, Calif., according to a news release.

The Todd Halbrook and Adam MacDonald Wealth Management Group includes Halbrook, MacDonald, and Vince Lovoy, all of whom serve as managing directors and financial advisors. The team also includes senior associates Christie Gregg and Parker Howard. The release noted that they provide wealthy individuals, families and businesses with tailored strategies and advice to address their unique financial goals.

The trio of advisors has decades of experience among themselves. The team spent 10 years at Wells Fargo prior to moving to First Republic in 2018, according to BrokerCheck. Halbrook began with Smith Barney in 1995 prior to joining Wells Fargo; MacDonald began his career with Ameriprise Financial Services in 2006, before moving to A.G. Edwards in 2007, then Wells Fargo in 2008. And Lavoy entered the industry in 1984 with Crowell, Weedon & Co. and worked for a few other firms including Citigroup before moving to Wells Fargo.

“We chose to move our business to RBC Wealth Management for its long-standing reputation of financial strength, integrity, and dedication to supporting advisors and clients,” Halbrook said in a statement.

RBC Southern California complex director Michael Melton said, “Todd, Adam and their team do an incredible job understanding their clients’ individual needs and developing custom strategies for their long-term financial goals. The genuine care they show their clients is a great fit for our firm.”
