Financial advisor Laura Evans has joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer, RIA and custodial platforms to launch an independent practice operating as Bloom Wealth Strategies in Richmond Hill, Ga., the company said.

Evans was formerly with Edward Jones, where she and her director of operations, Whitney Feasel, managed about $235 million in client assets.

Evans entered the financial services field out of college 27 years ago.

“One of the most important things about planning for retirement is understanding how to be reasonable and realistic about how long your money will last,” Evans said in a prepared statement. “I enjoy sitting down with my clients and helping them figure out how to really enjoy their retirement years.”

Evans said in a news release that she chose her firm’s new name as a reference to the title of a poem entitled “Risk." Consisting of a single sentence broken up into eight short lines, the poem uses the blossoming of a garden flower as a metaphorical call to action—one Evans credits in making the decision to launch an independent practice in partnership with LPL.

“There’s a reason LPL is the largest independent wealth management firm in the United States,” she said in the news release. “From access to streamlined and integrated technology solutions to strategic support, everything LPL offers is with the advisors in mind. I am at a stage in my life where I just want to focus on providing the best experience for my clients, and I am confident that partnering with LPL will allow me to do just that.”

Headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C., San Diego, and Boston, LPL Financial supports more than 21,000 financial advisors nationwide.
