49 Financial, an independent financial planner based in Austin, Texas, has become the first outside team to join the Thrivent Advisor Network (TAN), a Minneapolis-based hybrid independent advisor platform launched last year by parent company Thrivent Financial, a not-for-profit financial services organization founded by Lutherans, according to a spokesperson.

49 Financial, led by CEO Travis Penfield, is made up of seven founding senior advisors and more than 60 other advisors with an average age of 24 years old. The firm was previously with AXA Advisors, where the 49 Financial team managed $250 million in client assets.

Since the launch of the Thrivent Advisor Network in late 2019, approximately 130 Thrivent Financial advisors have chosen to transition to the new hybrid RIA platform, bringing close to $4 billion in assets under administration with them.

In addition to compliance, financing and platform services, advisors joining TAN can also take advantage of parent Thrivent Financial’s business development and lead generation programs, including specialized counseling from “growth coaches” for entrepreneurs with aggressive expansion plans.
