Former Merrill Lynch advisor Brenda Cox, whose team managed $2.5 billion in client assets, has partnered with ReDefine Independent Advisors LLC to launch Nspire Wealth in Denver, it was announced today.

Cox is part of a growing trend of advisors seeking to spread their wings and fly solo as independent registered investment advisors. Her breakaway strategy includes partnering with ReDefine Independent Advisors, an RIA services provider that helps advisors go independent.

"I created ReDefine to help advisors like Brenda realize their dream," ReDefine CEO Jason Inglis said in a press release. "But make no mistake, Nspire Wealth will be successful because of Brenda. She cares about her clients and is willing to work hard on their behalf. That's an unstoppable combination."

Nspire Wealth will work exclusively with high-net-worth families, foundations and endowments, and will specialize in impact investing.

On her social media account, Cox said she managed alternative investments, including credit, geographic, macroeconomic, lock-up and manager-specific risk. She also noted she was experienced in public-to-private transactions, sports franchise financing, private equity sponsorship, personal aircraft financing, commercial real estate and home lending, structured debt, and M&A transactions.

Cox began her financial services career in 1990 and moved to Citi Private Bank in Denver two years later, eventually becoming managing director. She most recently served as private wealth advisor, senior vice president at Merrill Lynch, where she worked since 2009.

Founded in 2019, ReDefine Independent Advisors LLC is a fee-based service provider in Denver.
