Nassim Nicholas Taleb, the author of “The Black Swan,” declared on Twitter that the cost of a “student loan debt jubilee should be borne by universities, not taxpayers.”

The mathematician then went on to take a swipe at the higher education establishment.

2) If a U.S. college degree appears to be useless, it is by design. For "liberal arts"= training for upper class free men (liber) who were above having a profession.

You learn to earn $$ in vocational or professional schools.

How many billions of dollars would be paid off by public universities, colleges and community colleges. Those are taxpayer dollars.

For any parent of a child headed for college, be forewarned that the term “vocational or professional schools” doesn’t include accounting. It does include nursing, pharmacy, and teaching – but not accounting. No Human Resources department that has informed guidance from the business’ accounting department will hire a new accounting graduate – unless that business’ accounting department has a training program for such new hires (and I’m talking about extensive training beginning with the very basics!).
