LPL Financial today announced that a former Raymond James team of six financial advisors with about $625 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets has joined its broker-dealer, corporate registered investment advisor and custodial platforms.

The advisors who operate TBT Financial Services are aligned with Financial Advocates, an existing LPL firm that provides concierge-level services to independent advisors, LPL said in a news release today.

Based in Longview and Tyler, Texas, the team includes advisors Jerry Martin, Jon Cromer, Mitzi Bjork, Carl Newman Jr., Curtis Hinshaw and Clint Quinn. They are joined by four operations support staff members. The team work closely with families, individuals and business owners across East Texas, the release said.

TBT Financial Services, the release noted, plans to rebrand early next year and move out of its bank premises into a larger building that allows for more visibility. “We’re making a series of positive changes that will help us enhance the way we serve our clients, expand our capabilities and position us for long-term sustainability and growth,” Martin said in a statement.

Martin, who according to his BrokerCheck profile was with Raymond James for 11 years and, before that, 17 years with TBT Securities L.C., said the team believes LPL provides the best opportunity to maintain independence while they expand the practice. “LPL’s strong technology investments were especially appealing, both from an operations standpoint and to be able to offer to clients. The capabilities will allow for a more streamlined and efficient process as we strive to create differentiated experiences for our clients,” he said.
