But can that sense of security, that sense of trust and familiarity be heightened through the use of technology and increased data gathering? The answer is yes, she says. Humans, like machines, are—or should be—tasked with gathering as much data as possible. We may not be able to process that information as quickly as machines, but we do still have an advantage over artificial intelligence: We have the ability to perceive. Computers are coming close to perception. They aren’t there yet; they need more data.
In the meantime, advisors, human advisors, need to overcome the fear of uncertainty that goes along with data privacy and technology to win the battle of man versus machine.
