Cornerstone now partners with advisors who want to know more about sustainable and impact investing.

“We are perfectly happy to partner with other advisors because the sustainable and impact investing market is so huge. It is only in its early days right now,” she says.

“We already know a lot of next-gen clients switch advisors when they inherit money from their parents. That loss of business is going to be even greater if the expertise on sustainable and impact investing is not in the firm,” Karp adds.

Eames at Calvert, which also specializes in sustainable and ESG funds, says it is “critical for advisors to engage their current clients in discussions of ESG investing or they will lose the opportunity” to be relevant.

Calvert has developed a video series on ESG investing that advisors can use to earn continuing education credits. The firm also has a broader series of videos and an impact blog to help advisors learn more about ESG and how to talk with clients about it.
