TD Waterhouse has introduced a home equity line of credit and a college-savings plan. The credit line is available to advisors through the company‚s alliance with KeyBank.

The savings plan is available through an arrangement between the firm and the Nebraska State Treasurer‚s Office and Union Bank & Trust Co. Both TD Waterhouse retail brokerage customers and independent financial advisors in its institutional services‚ network will be able to establish college-savings plans. Search 401k Initiatives

Search401k, based in Mendota Heights, Minn., will expand its private-label business this year by offering customized Web sites for researching 401(k) plans to more advisor groups.

Several leading financial services companies have enlisted Search401k to build such sites for their advisors. Search401k also plans to offer more intelligence-gathering tools, product-positioning research and market-trend surveys, as well as enhanced due-diligence reports and a 401(k) resource center for advisors.

DST Systems Inc. of Kansas City, Mo., plans to improve Vision, its Web portal for financial advisors, with a new tool that will make it easier to maintain accounts and manage customer relationships.

Vision enables advisors to view mutual fund and variable annuity information in a real-time environment. The new tool, Advisor Defined Portfolios, allows users to consolidate clients‚ statements so they reflect investments in various fund and variable-annuity companies.
