TD Ameritrade Institutional has created a mentoring program for advisors making the transition from broker.
The company has formed an Advisors In
Transition Mentor Council, composed of advisors who have previously
made the same type of career transition.
Mentors are
matched with advisors in the transition program to provide support and
guidance, according to the company.
"Going independent
can be a challenge," said Tom Bradley, president of TD Ameritrade
Institutional. "That's why we created a comprehensive package of tools
and services to make the move as easy as possible. Advisors now have an
additional edge because they can build a relationship with a mentor who
will provide assistance during the transition process."
TD Ameritrade will
also host workshops where mentors will discuss their experiences. The
first workshop will be in Chicago on June 22, according to the company.
The members of the
Mentor Council are: Deon Blaney, Private Wealth Management, Las Vegas;
Ron Brock, Sheaff Brock, Indianapolis, Ind.; Dave Ceponis, Ceponis
Financial Group, Wilton, Conn.; David Dowell, Russell Capital
Management, Lexington, Ky.; Seth Pearson, Pearson Financial Services,

Ramon, Calif., and Eric Witte, Ironmark Advisors LLC, Plano, Texas.
