A former Ameritrade executive has been named chief
operating officer of The MuniCenter L.L.C., a fixed-income trading
system founded six years ago.
James Wangsness, former senior vice president and
managing director of Ameritrade Advisor Services, will be responsible
for the firm's retail sales, marketing and product development efforts,
according to The MuniCenter.
Before Ameritrade's merger with TD Waterhouse last
year-creating TD Ameritrade-Wangsness headed Ameritrade's independent
advisor business, which served 1,600 RIAs and had more than $7 billion
under custody.
The MuniCenter was among the third-party services used by Ameritrade Advisor Services.
"Almost overnight, Ameritrade had a strong agency
offering adhering to the best principles of best execution all due to
TMC's superior client focus," Wangsness said.
