Financial Vision, a financial life planning firm in Atlanta, has merged with RTD Financial Advisors of Philadelphia. The deal gives RTD its fifth office and boosts its client base to 400. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Michael Smith, who runs Financial Vision with his wife and partner, Elizabeth Jetton, said the decision to merge with RTD was rooted in both firms' strong commitment to financial life planning. "It's a great fit," he says.

"We have two people who absolutely share our values about financial life planning," says Roy Diliberto, president of RTD. "It turns out there are some things they did well that we could have done better and vice versa. We feel when we finish redoing our processes we'll be doing as good a job as anyone I know."

Both Diliberto and Jetton have served as past presidents of the Financial Planning Association. RTD now has offices in Philadelphia, West Chester, Pa., Mt. Laurel, N.J., Atlanta and Bonita Springs, Fla.
