Fidelity Investments today unveiled two new offerings: the Fidelity Advisor Mega Cap Stock Fund and the VIP Emerging Markets Portfolio.
With the roll out of the mega cap fund (Class A, T, B, C and Institutional), Fidelity now offers roughly 115 Advisor funds to advisors at institutions such as brokerage firms, banks, and insurance companies. The fund is managed by Rick Mace and will normally be at least 80% invested in the common stocks of mega-cap companies whose market capitalization is similar to companies in the Russell Top 200 or S&P 100 indexes
Mace took the helm at the Fidelity Mega Cap Stock Fund (formerly known as Fidelity Growth & Income II Portfolio) in November 2007, and has managed several other Fidelity funds prior to that.
Fidelity's VIP Emerging Markets Portfolio is the latest addition to its line up of Variable Insurance Products (VIP) portfolios that are available only through insurance companies' variable products. The VIP Emerging Markets Portfolio normally invests at least 80% of assets in securities in emerging markets and other investments that are tied economically to emerging markets. VIP Emerging Markets Portfolio will be benchmarked against the MSCI Emerging Markets IndexSM (MSCI EM).
The VIP Emerging Markets Portfolio is managed by Robert von Rekowsky, who will continue managing the Fidelity Emerging Markets and Fidelity Advisor Emerging Markets funds that he has overseen since 2004.
