ETF education helps everyone, investors and advisors alike. Investors must grasp that ETFs are not created equally, and depending upon the selection, may be exposed to certain biases. A better informed investor leads to a better advisory experience, and there are a number of education sources in the market. IndexUniverse, Morningstar and ETF Trends among others provide insights, analysis and commentary about the ETF industry, and they assist advisors in distinguishing among the various ETFs.

Schwab recently launched the ETF Educational Exchange to assist advisors and investors. Guggenheim among others has provided content. We have also created content such as white papers, strategy pieces and research reports, which are available on our own website www.guggenheiminvestments.com. Guggenheim also formed the ETF Knowledge Center to assist advisors in distinguishing among strategies, and to provide in-depth discussions and analysis. We believe ETF Providers have an obligation to assist advisors and investors in understanding not just the strategies that they offer, but the marketplace as a whole.

ETF growth presents both opportunities and challenges, and ETF education helps both sides of the investing partnership. ETF education should help fuel growth by increasing investor knowledge, which ultimately leads to better informed decision making. We all benefit from better investor education.
