During the first half of 2017, 13 transactions involved more than $1 billion AUM. Of these, seven involved more than $2 billion in AUM.

“For a long time, we thought that the trend was going to be large firms swallowing up small firms,” says Beatty. “What we’re finding is that larger firms want to take advantage of mergers and acquisitions to find scale, to solve internal succession opportunities and to find strategic partnerships.”
