Sugarman says it is not known at this time if any of Diane McIver's assets are protected or if everything will go through probate court where they could be used for debts. The will has not been made public and Tex McIver already sold much of her jewelry, furs and clothng to pay his expenses.
“Financial planners should keep an eye out for potential problems. They need to involve not only an estate attorney but an attorney who is an expert in estate litigation if there might be problems,” Sugarman says.
