Former Morgan Stanley advisors with a combined $850 million in assets under management have joined Baird in Washington and Colorado, according to a new release.

Charles Patrick O’Connor, who had been with Morgan Stanley for 12 years, handled more than $450 million in AUM. He joins Baird as a senior vice president and financial advisor in Yakima, Wash. He began his career in 1998 with Citigroup Global Markets, according to BrokerCheck.

The  Helms Shadid Group of Durango, Colo.,, led by Thomas Helms, director and financial advisor, and Scott Shadid, senior vice president and financial advisor, managed $400 million in AUM. They are joined by client specialist Brett Cadwell. Helms began his career with Morgan Stanley in 2007 and Shadid in 2013.

Baird is an employee-owned, international wealth management, asset management, investment banking/capital markets and private equity firm. Its private wealth management business encompasses more than 1,300 financial advisors serving clients in 33 states. It has more than $255 billion in client assets.
