James Seth Thompson has been appointed as the head of diverse markets strategy for New York-based Bernstein Private Wealth Management, a unit of AllianceBerstein L.P., the firm announced.
In the firm’s first-ever role dedicated to diversity and inclusion, Thompson will develop relationships with diverse high-net-worth individuals and their families, business owners, institutions and not-for-profit organizations, and provide access to Bernstein’s research and investment planning expertise, the firm’s release stated.
Thompson has led business development, marketing strategy and program execution for AllianceBernstein’s North America institutional and insurance services divisions. He also held several leadership roles to promote the professional development of diverse talent internally across the firm.
He has also focused on diversity and inclusion, working with external organizations and academic institutions such as historically black colleges and universities to recruit from diverse groups throughout the U.S.
