William V. DiModugno, who served as publisher of Financial Advisor magazine from 2008 to 2012, died from leukemia on December 29.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, DiModugno worked early in his career as an advertising sales representative with The Wall Street Journal. In 1997, he became the founding publisher of Bloomberg Wealth Manager and remained in that position until the magazine was sold in 2004.

In 2005, he joined On Wall Street as publisher and remained there until 2008, when he joined CFPN as publisher of Financial Advisor. After leaving Financial Advisor, he became national sales manager of the business and finance book publishing group at John Wiley & Sons.

"The entire FA family was shocked and saddened at the news of Bill’s death,” said David Smith, group publisher of Financial Advisor.  "He was admired throughout the industry as being kind, compassionate and highly professional. He will surely be missed."

At the time of his death, Bill was an independent theater producer. A lifelong resident of Ridgewood, N.J., the theater was a constant passion throughout his life.

DiModugno was predeceased by his wife, Thyrza, who died in 2011. He is survived by three daughters, Emily, Darcy and Grace DiModugno; his mother, Rita DiModugno; two sisters; and a brother.
