Astoria Portfolio Advisors LLC, a New York City-based firm that constructs ETF-based portfolios for financial advisors and their clients, on Tuesday announced it hired Bruce Lavine as senior strategy advisor.
 
Lavine is an ETF and asset management veteran who was one of the earliest employees at iShares back when it was owned by Barclays Global Investors, and his roles there included chief financial officer, head of product development and CEO of iShares Europe. In 2006, he joined WisdomTree as president and chief operating officer, where he remains a member of the board of directors. Most recently, Lavine was the CEO of 55 Capital.
  
Astoria Portfolio Advisors specializes in the construction, management and sub-advising of multi-asset ETF model portfolios utilizing a quantitative and cross-asset investment framework. Models are stress tested through various quantitative risk models to gauge  portfolio risks and help determine when risk budgets should be expanded or minimized.
