Offering investors a choice (active vs passive) is always a good idea. Or, larger accounts are active and smaller accounts are passive. But, is GS waving the white flag on high priced actively managed funds that do not beat the market? Or, do they expect to offset substantially lower fees with higher volumes of assets? Executive bonus pools could be smaller in the future.
