A new financial industry consultant, Charlotte, N.C.-based Cassique Strategies, has been launched by a former LPL executive.

The firm, founded by Andy Kalbaugh, will focus on providing strategic advisory guidance for wealth management firms, according to a press release. Kalbaugh is a former LPL Financial divisional president with more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He is managing director of Cassique.

During his career, Kalbaugh has helped in the development and growth of wealth management firms and platforms, Cassique said.

“I’m thrilled to get Cassique off the ground as it’s something I’ve been looking forward to doing for quite some time,” Kalbaugh said in a statement. “I look forward to helping my clients navigate the wealth management terrain. I’ve always been a big believer in the power of expert guidance for firms seeking to unlock new opportunities and increase their growth.”

Before launching Cassique Strategies, Kalbaugh served as managing director and divisional president at LPL Financial. As a member of the management committee at LPL, he had oversight for the long-term growth and retention of more than 17,000 independent financial advisors and 800 financial institutions, representing more than $900 billion in assets, Cassique said.

Kalbaugh also is member of the advisory board of TowerBrook Capital Partners Management, a private equity firm; a board member for Communities in Schools of Mecklenburg County, N,C., where he previously served as president. Previously, Kalbaugh has served as CEO of American General Securities and CEO of Mutual Service Corp.
