The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning will receive a $250,000 donation from AssetMark Inc. to support initiatives that promote diversity in the financial planning profession.

The Center said the donation would be made over the next five years. The Center unites financial professionals, firms, educators, researchers and experts to examine future challenges in the financial planning profession. Its mission is to build academic resources and opportunities to conduct and publish new research on financial planning, said a press release.

Charlie Fitzgerald, III, CFP, member of the Board of Directors of the CFP Board and the Center’s Campaign Development Committee, attended AssetMark’s Gold Forum in Orlando, Fla., to accept the donation, AssetMark said.
