James N. Katsaounis, who was formerly with the American College of Financial Services in King of Prussia, Pa., has been hired for the newly created position of managing director, marketing and communications for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the CFP Board announced today.

Katsaounis will lead the board’s public awareness campaign, as well as the marketing, communications and media relations.

He was previously chief marketing officer and vice president of marketing and communications at the American College of Financial Services. The college hosts one of the longest-running CFP Board registered programs, which provides students with the foundational education required to become a CFP professional.

Under his leadership, the college developed and executed innovative marketing, public relations, communications, social media, branding, content and digital media programs tailored to the financial professionals, the CFP Board said.

Prior to joining the American College of Financial Services in 2018, Katsaounis served as associate vice president of university communications for Drexel University.
