"Personally I think it is cowardice,” Jeff Farrar, managing partner of Procyon Partners in Wilton, Conn., told Financial Advisor magazine. “If you want to pause all political contributions fine, but why target just one party? Despite what some politicians are claiming, the ends does not justify the means."

In contrast, Chris Chen, a Boston-based financial planner, said, the major reason that Republican rank-and-file voters think there is a need for an audit “is because of the news they consume," he said. “Short of shutting down the Fox/OANN/Newsmax/ fever swamp, the challenge is how to get actual news to their viewers so that we can come back to a common set of facts. If we do a 10-day audit, what happens afterwards when the audit contradicts Fox & Co.? Will we go to a 20-day audit?”
