Zurich-based global financial advisory firm the deVere Group has created a digital identification verification application for the financial services industry.
deVere Group’s Ident Me verification system can serve as an alternative process for client onboarding, also offering a notary services function to users – a first for the international financial services sector, according to a deVere announcement released on Wednesday.
"Fintech is already the ‘new normal' as we increasingly insist on immediate, on-the-go, 24/7 access to, use and management of our money,” said Nigel Green, founder and CEO of deVere Group, in comments released on Wednesday. “We demand personalised, on-demand services and lower costs. Against this backdrop of growing demand, we decided that we needed to make the set-up process of onboarding to use our fintech apps as quick, easy and secure as possible. Ident Me is a hassle-free, simple and safe way for clients to provide identity verification for themselves via a KYC (Know Your Client) form."
Ident Me can verify client identity for onboarding via a three-step process:
- Proof of identity – the client provides pictures or scans of the front and back of identification cards or a passport.
- Capture of documents – the client provides a picture or scan of a document with their address on it such as a utility bill.
- Liveness test – the client provides a live selfie to verify against their identification.
Ident Me joins other deVere fintech applications like deVere Vault, an e-money app and multi-currency prepaid card; deVere Crypto, an app to store, transfer and exchange digital currencies; deVere Core, an app that allows clients to monitor their accounts in real time, anywhere, and receive relevant news; and deVere Catalyst, a digital investment and savings application offering globally diversified funds.
