Cohen & Steers, a global investment manager headquartered in New York, has promoted Joseph Harvey, president and chief investment officer, to the firm’s board of directors, effective immediately.

Harvey joined the firm in 1992 as a REIT analyst. He was promoted to portfolio manager in 1998, then to president in 2003.

Before joining Cohen & Steers, Harvey was a vice president with Robert A. Stanger & Co., where he was an analyst specializing in real estate and in the oil and gas segment for the firm’s research and consulting division.

Harvey earned a bachelor of science in engineering from Princeton University.
