A former Raymond James Financial Services’ team with $195 million assets under management has joined the Commonwealth Financial Network of independent financial advisors, Commonwealt announced.

Blaser Investment Management Group of Burlington, N.C., is led by 30-year industry veteran Jeff Blaser. He is joined by financial advisor Austin Daugherty and two support team members, according to the firm’s website.

Blaser, who spent 25 years with Raymond James, said culture played a critical role in moving to Commonwealth. “The inclusive, relational culture at Commonwealth is a top reason we made this change. It’s very attractive and one that nurtures both personal and professional growth. It is also a place where I can create a succession plan the way I envision,” he said in a statement.

Blaser and Daugherty said they incorporate a biblical worldview into their practice. “We believe that the Bible is a source of financial truth for everyone, regardless of faith, journey or where they are in the world,” they said in a press release.

Commonwealth’s technology offering was another attraction for the team. “Their robust technology offering and seamless integration between platforms are going to really help us be much more efficient going forward,” Blaser said. “Being able to free up time so that we can focus more on our clients is extremely valuable, and the suite of tools that now power our practice will do just that.”

Founded in 1979, Commonwealth has headquarters in Waltham, Mass., and San Diego. The firm supports more than 2,000 independent financial advisors nationwide.
