Cumberland Trust, an independent partner to advisors providing comprehensive trust services to families, has expanded its Dallas office with the appointment of Daniel Naylor as vice president and regional development officer, Cumberland announced.

In his role, Naylor will develop long-term relationships with families and their teams of counselors, including attorneys, financial advisors and planners, and accountants. He will assist advisors in implementing multigenerational wealth transfer strategies for high-net-worth families.

“Dallas is a great market for Cumberland Trust. There are few truly independent, impartial trust companies remaining,” says Naylor. “We have the flexibility and expertise to handle the unique challenges facing families in Dallas and throughout the state of Texas.”

Previously, Naylor worked for Merrill Lynch as part of the Merrill Lynch Trust Company.

Cumberland Trust has offices in Dallas and Austin as well as its headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., a new office in St. Louis and offices in Atlanta, Ga., and Tampa, Fla.

“Our independent trust fiduciary model is resonating with high-net-worth families [because] we can work with the advisors who helped them grow and preserve their wealth,” says Michelle Diamond, senior vice president, director of business development and regional markets.
