The majority of drones used by consumers cost about $1,500 -- about the price of a laptop, says Winn. Using and tracking these drones is remarkably easy, he says. He notes that Apple and Android users can download DroneDeploy software in the app store and activate it with just a couple of clicks.
Winn, who formerly worked at Google, has been flying drones for nine or ten years. Although his original interest was as a drone hobbyist, he says, “I’ve always been excited about their ability to change business.”
