"Stop worrying about how your clients are going to send their kids to college -- it's irrelevant," he said. "Within the next five years, every state in the nation will be offering free tuition."
Blockchain Revolution
In describing technologies that will have an impact on advisors and their clients, Edelman was perhaps most earnest about the arrival of blockchain technology in the financial industry.
"It's the most important technology," he said after a member of the audience asked for his thoughts on blockchain. "You cannot overstate the importance of this."
He predicted that blockchain technology will eliminate millions of jobs by cutting out the middleman in all types of transactions that involve buyers and sellers.
