Financial advisors Josh Perello and Jimmy Guidry have joined Ameriprise Financial's independent channel and launched a practice with nearly $150 million in client assets in Breaux Bridge, La., the company said.
The duo met in 2015 when both were working at Edward Jones. After Perello left to join Raymond James in 2017, the two friends remained in touch. In early 2023, Guidry began seeking out a new broker-dealer partner, one that provided more support and capabilities to serve his clients. After looking at Ameriprise's offering, and he called Perello.
“Shortly into that conversation, we both realized we were sitting on a golden opportunity to build an incredible practice together at Ameriprise,” Guidry said in a news release announcing the launch of their independent practice.
He said that by working together as a team, he and Perello could serve their combined clientele more effectively, while leveraging each other’s strengths as financial advisors to grow their new business.
Perello said that both he and Guidry were passionate about helping their clients achieve their financial goals, and that Ameriprise shared their commitment to that end.
"Financial planning is very important to us, which aligns perfectly with the Ameriprise value proposition,” Perello said in the news release.
Both advisors praised the onboarding team at Ameriprise, which they said helped them successfully transition.

Office manager Cathy Taylor joins the Perello and Guidry team at Ameriprise, which is supported locally by franchise field vice president Mike Barker and regional vice president Tres Rouquette.
