Elizabeth Maza Stewart, a lawyer and marketing executive, has been appointed chief operating officer of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

The first to fill the new position, Stewart will be responsible for increasing awareness of CFP certification and directing efforts to provide timely and professional services to stakeholders.

“Elizabeth has significant and relevant experience in management and corporate branding that will benefit [the] CFP Board’s mission and strategic priorities,” CFP Board CEO Kevin Keller said in a prepared statement.
