Raymond James announced that a duo of Florida financial advisors with $195 million in client assets has joined its independent advisor channel, Raymond James Financial Services.

Eric Cornell and Patrick Shea join Raymond James as Helius Wealth Management in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The two were previously with Ameriprise Financial Services.

The team includes branch associates Margaret Scaparotti and Alana Cornell, as well as client service associates Josefine Troneby and John Nelson. The team serves a variety of clients including business owners, corporate executives, families and physicians, the release said.

Eric Cornell, the firm's branch manager who spent two decades at Ameriprise, said the team was drawn to Raymond James for the independence it offered and the ability it gave the team to make decisions that are best for the clients. “Since coming on board, the support of the home office and the people we interact with day to day has been tremendous. The ease of doing business has surpassed our expectations at every turn, and I’m confident that our clients will benefit,” he said in a statement.

Shea, a private wealth advisor, began his career at Ameriprise in December 2007. He said after thorough due diligence, his team found the culture at Raymond James to be the best fit for their transition. “I’m confident that the tools and technology available will allow us to continue to add value to our clients through the financial planning process,” he said.

Raymond James Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc., which had about 8,400 financial advisors throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, and a total of $1.21 trillion in client assets as of June 30.
